A writer’s pattern – John Grisham novels | August 7, 2008

A young lawyer. Difficult case. In a serious relationship/married. These are patterns too. But what exactly makes John Grisham so good? Patterns of MONEY.

It’s how everybody keeps thinking and scheming about money all the time. How the life in States turns around money and greed. These are the main themes and patterns. Grisham wins because lawer=money=reader’s interest.

I’ve read about 8 of his books in 2 months. So, the visible patterns are obvious; for example when a lawyer is scared, he (always he) gets a diarrhea, or when they eat a greasy catfish with someone. Those are just decorations to the main idea – people scheme MONEY all the time. Which I don’t like, and which is so true.
