There’s always something going on | April 1, 2008

One way to make a mental shift is to watch mental movies. For example Peaceful Warrior. The story is about a gymnast who leads a common life of a young man. College, sports, friends, girls. The only problem is; he’s unhappy.

Then there’s an old man who manages to teach him some truths. I liked these;

  • While they were eating together, the old man told him “Eat slower, or you won’t taste anything”
  • When bad guys robbed them, he made the gymnast give up money, a watch and even clothes, even if bad guys only wanted money
  • And the best one; “There’s always something going on. Each moment is important right now, don’t waste it worrying about future or past.”

Will you believe me if I write that food tasted real good after that movie? And today, after 2 days I watched it, I still feel like many useless worries and stress problems were washed away by that movie.
