Stupid “this year” motivation lists | January 8, 2008

After this birthday/ After this New Year I will:
1. blah blah
2. duh duh
3. take my cat for a walk

Any day is good for work people. Let’s accept the lazyness within, don’t blame it on a bad day or a bad year, and overcome it. Penelope Trunk is of course a big expert in millenia “twentysomething” workforce, but I think her resolution list advice is soooo boring. Here: “1. Think about money.”, “3. Write the goal down every day, and put the paper on your wall.” How’s this a good approach to motivation?

Here’s a good approach by the brand builder, it advises incremental growth. And here’s another list focusing on clarity.

Anyway, binding them to specific dates is dangerous. One can easily forget to start a new fresh day, everyday.
