Plug & play

There’s this great software maker –37signals.com. They focus on “things done the simple way”. It’s just impossible for one person to know all technical details of 2007. No time!!!

Make it simple as Apple’s iPhone and sell, sell, sell. Technology must be plug & play! But what happens to an engineer like me? I get these half-installed complicated systems, where cables, hardware boards and manuals mystically disappear. Okay, I can fix some cables myself. But how do I produce a microprocessor?

Eventually it’s work till midnight and weeks without weekends. Damn!

  1. Salam,
This post is not much clear?
Microprocessors most probably come attached, and in order to change, you will need to just order.

While technology works for people, I guess they also consider the fact that “If everything will be done by technological stuff then how to make busy such a number of engineers like you?!”. 🙂

Like in some countries as far as I know they do not bring latest technology as it will increase the number of unemployed.

Personally, I do not agree with it.

Look my comment is already longer than ur post. 🙂

  2. Well, there are standards microprocessor boards nowadays… It’s all quite easy of course. I’m just tired correcting others’ mistakes. Plus, manufacturing companies are intentionally making their technology non-standard to rip off more money…
